Lie:
The Highway garage is in disrepair because of the Republican control of the Town Board and their unwillingness to repair the building.
Truth:
The only town facility that has not been maintained properly is the Town Highway garage, which has been under the control of and managed by a Democratic Highway Superintendent for 10+ years. Past and present Supervisors have saved over 1.2 million dollars in capital funds to build a new Garage. The plan for the garage is currently being discussed on the town board. Progress forward is being slowed by the broken and disintegrated relationship between the Highway Superintendent and a current member of the Town Board. We believe we need to work together and invest our time into this building now for the future of Hurley. The capital to do this is available and ready.
